Joel Clifton is a photographer and videographer based in Squamish, BC.
His career began in 2014 while living in a tent on the shore of the Yukon River.
The work he created on the road and in the north earned him an award and
recognition from The Boreal Collective.
After Yukon, he returned to Ontario to study fine art and photography at
Ryerson University. He has been pursuing editorial and commercial projects since,
while quietly working on documentary and expressive works with an emphasis on
environmental portraiture and story-telling.
In 2018, he received an Emerging Photographer Award from the Palm Springs Photo Festival
for a documentary project exploring the diversity of freshwater systems in Canada.
